Reading up on the retired greyhounds and the plight they face led up to our decision of fostering.
"Krazy Kirk" arrived at our home to meet our Clan, "Ollie" the Schnauzer, "Xena & Dinah" the two Standard Poodles, and of course the two cats.
There was no doubt in Kirk's mind that he was going to be our next addition. He fitted into the household, and tried to make himself small and unnoticeable at first. A difficult task indeed, for a large, 80 lb. male greyhound [they come in smaller sizes!].
As the week went by, his unique personality became quite evident! Clever, intelligent, gregarious, playful, "you first please" attitude, won over the "Clan" and our hearts.
Of course becoming foster parents was just a hair's breath away from our adoption of "Krazy Kirk." This was one of the best decisions we made, and he thinks so too.
Please visit the G.R.E.A.T. Inc. website to see more information on how you can be a knowledgeable foster parent, volunteer or adopt a retired greyhound. Ten percent of our profits will go to Greyhound Rescue and Adoption of Tampa Bay, Inc.
